For centuries the Channel Islands could boast of large fields of hemp. Now, Jersey Hemp is bringing it back and aiming to once again make it the agricultural asset it once was. From their hemp farm on the outskirts of St. Helier, Jersey, they produce high-quality organic extracts to use in their range of CBD oils, CBG oils and hemp protein powder.
This 10ml bottle of 10% CBD oil is the strongest they produce, containing 1000mg of cannabidiol and is made with a whole-plant extract. The result is a full-spectrum product rich in cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids and antioxidants. The active ingredients are suspended in a hemp seed carrier oil so you get two hemp products in one.
The packaging is stylish and informative but I was particularly impressed with the information available on the product page. The details they’ve included and the language they use indicates a genuine commitment to transparency. For example, they are the first company I’ve seen to use the more open phrase “no-detectable THC” instead of the stronger “zero THC” that many go for.

Who is Jersey Hemp?
The Jersey Hemp story began in 2013 when three firefighters discovered the potential and history of hemp. They were captivated by its many properties and particularly its use as a building material. Soon their goal became to return hemp cultivation to Jersey.
Now, they use a mixture of hemp grown on Jersey farms and plants imported from the US to produce high-quality food supplements. Their products are manufactured using supercritical CO2 extraction and partial decarboxylation to get the best blend of cannabinoids and plant nutrients.
By working with local government and agricultural experts Jersey Hemp has already breathed new life into the Channel Islands’ hemp industry. Their plants are grown organically using the latest technology and engineering.
Third-Party Lab Tests
The third-party lab tests for this oil are easily accessible via the product description or on the analytics page. I was impressed to see that they publish the lab tests from every batch. Unfortunately, although the oil I received had batch number FP10-0016 printed on it, I couldn’t match it to the relevant results because they’re not clearly shown on the certificates.
Two sets of results are available for each batch; one displaying a cannabinoid profile and the other a terpene profile. Both are simple and fairly easy to understand. It would be useful to also see the results of screening for contaminants.
Disappointingly the 8.9% of CBD found in the analysis is significantly less than the 10% displayed on the label. This means around 110mg of CBD were missing from the 1000mg I expected. The claims of no detectable THC are verified and the small number of other cannabinoids indicates that it is likely to be a genuine full-spectrum oil.
Ease of Use
Placing drops under your tongue can be tricky but I found this dropper to work particularly well. It has a tapered tip that usually lets small amounts of oil escape, whether you’re squeezing or not, but the firm bulb on this one prevented this from happening. It was also able to get the last few bits out of the bottle and when completely depressed the entire dropper could be completely discharged. These things may sound simple but you’d be surprised how many droppers I’ve found that make the process of using the oil a lot harder.
Although the directions for use on the bottle don’t include any details about placing the oil under your tongue I was very impressed by the info provided on the product page. Not only can you access detailed instructions for sublingual use but they also include an excellent CBD calculator. This lets you use your body weight to calculate your ideal daily serving. You can also enter which product you have and it will show you the measurement in CBD and drops.
Jersey Hemp CBD Oil Taste
This is a strongly flavoured oil with a distinctive cannabis-like grassy flavour and a sharp bitter aftertaste. When held under your tongue it’s milder, but this may not be the one for you if you don’t like the taste of hemp.
Potency/ Effectiveness
I often find oils made with whole-plant extract to be particularly potent and this one was no exception. I could feel sensations of calm and relaxation very quickly after each serving and throughout the month I saw a significant improvement in my symptoms of chronic pain and anxiety.
This is clearly a quality oil and the fact that Jersey Hemp doesn’t make wild claims about transparency and the cannabinoid content goes a long way to demonstrating its authenticity. The potency of this oil is its major selling point. Despite not having quite as much CBD as displayed on the label, it more than makes up for it in effectiveness and power.
Would I Buy Again?
Yes, I would buy Jersey Hemp CBD oil again. The price is a little high but there are detailed lab reports that are easily available and the oil itself is very effective. As a result, it scores highly enough to be included in our best UK CBD oils article. As Jersey Hemp only uses organic hemp, it cannot be included in our best organic CBD oil reviews.
If what you seek is a high-strength oil, at 10% it is some way off the threshold of 25% to be included in our list of the strongest CBD oils available in the UK.

This is an uncomplicated oil made to a high standard. It has a strong hemp flavour that is followed by potent calming effects. The pipette and bottle work and seal well ensuring that you will get the most from your purchase. The amount of CBD shown on the latest third-party lab report showed 8.9%, not the expected 10%, but overall this is an oil that provides exceptional value.
