This packet of 30 x 10mg CBD capsules is produced using full-spectrum hemp which is rich in cannabinoids and terpenes. What makes them stand apart from other capsules is that they only contain decarboxylated finely ground hemp. This means that it includes all the natural compounds and hasn’t had to undergo extraction.
As with every Hempura product, the box features a striking gold and green pattern which delivers a sense of luxury. The writing on the packaging gives you all the information you need, including that it contains less than the lowest detectable amount of THC at 0.05%.

Founded in 2017, Hempura is a CBD brand that manufactures their products in the UK. Since they started, they have gained a prominent position in the industry and a reputation for providing high-quality products.
Their winning formula is to make every part of their process transparent. Instead of making claims about their methods and products, they produce the evidence and let you see for yourself. You can find a comprehensive database of lab certificates and detailed information about the hemp they use, including where they import it from and how they process it.
Hempura is a member of several UK industry organisations including the Cannabis Trades Association and the Vegan Society. By focusing on delivering well-made products to UK customers, they have already made a significant contribution to the quality and reputation of the industry. The hemp they use is grown on EU regulation-compliant European farms, carefully tested then imported to the UK.
Hempura has a good reputation with its customers and has a rating of ‘excellent’ on Trustpilot and Google Reviews. There are lots of mentions of friendly staff, fast delivery and effective products.
They also offer several other products, including oils, edibles, creams, e-liquids and hemp tea. I’ve also reviewed their CBD e-liquid, 5% CBD oil, revitalise CBD cream and raspberry hemp tea.

Third-Party Lab Tests
Hempura provides a detailed database of lab certificates for most of its products. A batch number is added to every item, and this can be used to find the document that applies to it. If you haven’t yet made a purchase, you can use the example batch number they give on their site.
This system works, but it would be improved by including the ability to search by product as well as by batch number. This means you can get a better idea of the general standard and level of quality in every item. Companies like Endoca use a similar system, but you can browse all of their certificates as well as find one that relates to your product.
When I entered the batch number for my capsules (1143802), I was able to view its cannabinoid profile. The analysis showed that several were present and gave them in percentages and in weight. This is handy because some brands give these values in ways that can be hard to understand.
In each capsule, the analysis detected:
- CBD = 2.430% (364.5mg)
- CBDA = 0.25% (37.5mg)
- CBDV = 0.05% (7.5mg)
- CBG = 0.2% (30mg)
- CBGA < 0.03% (Not detected)
- CBN < 0.03% (Not detected)
- THCA < 0.03% (Not detected)
- Δ9-THC < 0.03% (Not detected)
- Δ8-THC < 0.03% (Not detected)
- CBC < 0.17% (25.5mg)
The amount of CBD in this batch is higher than the 300mg on the packaging. The range of other cannabinoids in the sample shows that it is a full-spectrum extract. Although there are only a few shown in the analysis, the others are likely to be present in the sample, but in undetectable traces.
The process around these certificates is excellent, but I would like to see more detail. A terpene profile and contaminant screening would be a useful addition and could backup Hempura’s claims about quality and transparency. It would also be useful to see more details about the THC contents because the lower limit of 0.03% just shows that the packet contains less than about 4mg. This is important because the legal limit in the UK is 1mg per container.
Ease of Use
Capsules are among the easiest ways to take CBD. You can take them with you wherever you go without fear of them leaking.
Hempura CBD capsules come in three foil blister packs each with ten capsules. Most CBD capsules come in a bottle, but I prefer this packaging because you can take a few in a bag or pocket and they don’t rattle.
These capsules are easy to take, but each one is 2.4cm long, so they are on the large side. If you find larger capsules and tablets tricky, you might want to look for a smaller gel capsule like those from Fog Clarity.
With CBD capsules that contain oil, you have the option of biting them open and letting the oil dissolve under your tongue. With these Hempura capsules, the finely milled hemp makes this impossible.
The directions on the packet are straightforward and suggest taking one or two a day with or after food. They also indicate that you may want to slowly increase the number of capsules you take but should never exceed 200mg per day. A daily amount of two capsules is 20mg per day, or 24.3mg according to the lab results for my batch.
Taste
Some capsules can have a strong taste of their own, but these were nearly flavourless. The capsule shell is made from Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC) which is a widespread substitution for gelatine in capsules. It is a chemically produced polymer made from plant materials. They are a great way to take high-quality full-spectrum hemp if you don’t like the flavour of CBD oil.
Hempura CBD Capsules Potency/ Effectiveness
These are some of the most effective capsules I’ve tried so far. Because they contain a fine powder, I wasn’t sure if they would be as effective as those containing oil. Despite my misgivings, they matched the strength of some of my favourite 4% or 5% oils.
This was particularly surprising because swallowing and ingesting CBD is the least efficient method to get it into your bloodstream. However, after about 20 minutes, I felt a gentle sensation of relaxation. I put this down to the presence of the decarboxylated hemp plant matter.
I continued to take 2 per day for the full 15 days, each time to a similar effect. During this period, there was a noticeable improvement in my stress levels, and I also enjoyed several great nights of sleep.
Value for Money
For £19.99 you get 300mg of CBD shared between 30 capsules. This works out at about 67p per 10mg capsule, which is incredible value. It’s close to the price of Jacob Hooy’s 10mg capsules which are £59.99 for 120 or 50p per serving. Despite being slightly more expensive than Jacob Hooy, these contain the whole plant and I found them to be more effective.
Although I would like to see a terpene profile and a contaminant screening included in the lab analysis, this is an excellent product. Hempura’s approach means that they have genuinely earned their reputation and do nearly everything they can to be upfront about their product and methods. The fact that you’re getting your CBD in a total of 15g of ground hemp really adds to the value. I would happily use these capsules again especially at this price.
