Founded by professional rugby players George Kruis and Dominic Day, Four Five CBD is ‘a CBD brand made for athletes, by athletes’. Their 500mg oil is made with an MCT oil carrier, totalling 30ml and resulting in a concentration of 1.67%. It’s made with a full-spectrum hemp extract and comes in a spray bottle for quick application.
This is likely the best-designed bottle and packaging I’ve seen; it reminds me of the clean lines and modern design used by Eir Health. The bottle and box look minimalist and well-presented but also pack in lots of useful information. However, because the bottle is completely opaque and it comes with a spray cap, it’s impossible to get a visual impression of the oil before using it.
The brand website is packed with informative details as well as introducing their broad range of products. There were a few mentions of ‘organic CBD hemp oils’ and ‘herbicide and pesticide free’, but I couldn’t find any evidence that the brand or any of the products have been certified as organic. It’s possible that some organic components are used or that the hemp is farmed using organic methods but without any evidence I cannot say for certain.
Overall, Four Five CBD have created a product that certainly looks the part and I was keen to find out if the oil lives up to the promise of the packaging.
Update 21st June 2021: After speaking with Four Five CBD it has come to our attention that the product they are selling is no longer full-spectrum and now uses a cheap isolate. As a result, this review no longer reflects the current product available for sale. If you would like to find a full-spectrum oil, we are happy to recommend Eir Health 30 (read the review here) or you can check out our guide to the best CBD oils in the UK.

Who are Four Five CBD?
Four Five CBD are a UK brand based in St Albans who refer to their products as ‘natural CBD for an active lifestyle’. During their professional rugby careers, George and Dom often turned to natural supplements to support their lifestyle. When they discovered CBD, they were keen to share it with friends and colleagues. However, they felt that there weren’t many brands available with products that met the athletes’ standards. To address this, they created Four Five CBD.
Four Five CBD aims to be a quality CBD range that helps the UK industry move towards universal standards of cleanliness, transparency and reliability. To achieve this and verify the contents of their products they employ well known UK lab Phytovista to analyse every batch, the results of which are published on their website.
They use premium European hemp which they import from Croatia, Slovenia, Czech Republic and Slovakia. Then the cannabinoids are extracted using CO2 to produce a safe CBD-rich end product.
3rd Party Lab Tests
Four Five CBD make their third-party lab results easy to find from each product page and from the website footer. They’re available for each batch, and the batch number on the bottom of the bottle shows which certificate relates to your product, mine was FFCBD01.
The certificates are straightforward but basic and only give details of the cannabinoids the oil contains. More detailed certificates, such as those provided by Endoca, also show a terpene profile and a contaminant screening.
The cannabinoid profile showed that the third-party lab tested for fourteen cannabinoids, including THC. The analysis shows 1.87% (561mg) of CBD along with tiny traces of other cannabinoids including CBDVa, CBDV and THC.
The full results for my batch showed:
CBDVa = 0.00282% (of 30mls)
CBDV = 0.295%
CBDa < 0.00250%
CBGa < 0.00250%
CBG = 0.0287%
CBD = 1.87%
THCV = 0.109%
CBN < 0.00250%
Δ9-THC = 0.00687%
Δ8-THC < 0.00500%
THCa < 0.00250%
CBC < 0.00250%
Ease of Use
Four Five CBD have designed everything about their oil with athletes in mind, so they paid special attention to making it easy to use. The bottle was created to be used quickly and on the go. It has a spray top that delivers 0.12ml of oil and 2mg of CBD every time.
This is genuinely one of the most convenient oils I’ve ever used. The spray action is smooth and it delivers a jet of oil under your tongue without having to hold it too close. The fact that each pump of the spray delivers 2mg means that it’s easy to work out how many you’ll need to get your desired amount.
There are some brief instructions on how to use it on the bottle and another set in more detail on the box. You might feel self-conscious trying to use a dropper to take CBD oil in public, but with this spray it’s so quick and easy, likely no one would notice.
Four Five CBD Taste
This oil is a delight. I was blown away by its mild flavour. The only way I can describe it is that it has a hint of citrus zest. I had to double-check that I didn’t have the orange flavoured version instead, but it’s definitely the natural one.
It’s a very faint taste and the texture is buttery and smooth, which is characteristic of MCT oil. If you spray it directly onto your tongue, it’s still pleasant but with the tiniest hint of bitterness. Even when I took several sprays at once, I still found it enjoyable.
In fact, it could possibly be a rival for the highly filtered floral tasting oils like Cibdol and Bud & Tender. The mild flavour may result from the extra carrier oil and the lower concentration. If you don’t like bitter, grassy CBD oils, this one will definitely be for you.
I took a daily amount of 40mg in two 20mg measures, one in the morning and one about half an hour before bed. I had two bottles and together they lasted me just over three weeks in total.
I noticed a calming effect very quickly after each serving. On the first day, I found that a tension headache reduced shortly after taking it and I had very few during the following weeks. For me, the effects were fast-acting and potent. They included a reduction in anxiety, a mild sensation of calm, improved sleep and a feeling of general well-being.
Value for Money
For £29.99 you get 30ml of 1.67% oil which gives you a total of 500mg of CBD. If you choose to subscribe, you can earn yourself a significant discount and get one bottle per month for only £23.99. This isn’t the cheapest oil by any means, but for 500mg of CBD, it’s an excellent price, particularly when you consider the flavour, potency and how easy it is to use.
There’s no doubt this is an exceptionally well made and well-presented oil. I can’t by any means claim to be an athlete so I can’t confirm that it’s ideal for athletes, but it’s also well-suited to anyone who wants an easy to use, potent CBD oil.

Four Five CBD’s 500mg CBD oil is a blend of full-spectrum hemp extract and 30ml of MCT oil. It has a mild flavour with almost no bitterness and a hint of citrus. Third-party lab certificates are available for each batch and verify the amount of CBD and the presence of a few other cannabinoids. The spray top makes it incredibly easy to use and each pump delivers a handy measure of 2mg CBD. This is a well made potent oil that I found useful for anxiety, sleep and tension headaches.
