CBD Guru CBD Gummies Review

CBD Guru Gummies Review

Among their extensive CBD range, CBD Guru has these 10mg ‘Pure CBD Gummies’. In a container, I got thirty bears with a total of 300mg of CBD. If you prefer you can get a packet of 60 or even opt for the more potent 20mg gummies.

They’re made with broad-spectrum CBD (THC free but with more than just CBD) and contain bovine gelatine so aren’t suitable for vegetarians or vegans (CBD Guru does offer a vegan version). At first glance these gummies look nearly identical to Haribo Goldbears, they’re about the same size and come in a similar range of colours. Later, when I tried them, I also found that the slightly tough, chewy texture is nearly identical as well.

Strangely the CBD isn’t mixed into the gummy, it’s used to coat the outside. I’m fairly sure that I’ve never tried gummies made like that before and I was immediately dubious as to how it would work and how it might influence the flavour.

Who is CBD Guru?

CBD Guru is based in the UK, most of their products are made with a broad spectrum hemp extract but a few contain isolate. If you’re looking for something more innovative, they also have a selection of CBG oils.

CBD Guru was conceived when a friend of founder Neil had ulcerative colitis. Neil started looking for affordable, effective CBD for him, but he found that the best oils were priced well beyond what could be afforded by someone on a standard weekly wage. As a result, he began to produce his own CBD products for some of his friends. Just two years later, he was able to launch the CBD Guru brand.

The extracts used in all their products come from well-known US hemp farms. It’s then sent to a GMP accredited facility before being shipped to the UK. To ensure that they always provide the best products CBD Guru work closely with their farmers and manufacturers. Together they’re able to provide exceptional traceability and transparency in all of their processes and procedures.

They offer a broad range of products including CBD Guru CBD oil, CBD Asylum capsules, CBD Asylum e-liquids and these CBD gummies, most of which we have reviewed if you would like to find out more.

3rd Party Lab Tests

CBD Guru makes sure that every product comes with an up-to-date, third-party lab certificate. One example is available in the description section on each product page. Although it looks like the lab results are regularly updated, I always prefer to see the copies from all previous batches. That way, you can match the batch number on your gummies to a specific set of results.

The certificate itself is straightforward and shows a cannabinoid profile. This is the most critical information, but I find it useful when additional details such as a terpene profile and a screening for contaminants are included.

The data is set out in a way that I found relatively easy to understand and it verified that one gummy does hold 10mg of CBD and less than 0.0005mg of THC. Even when you take into account that there are thirty gummies, it still falls well within the UK legal limit of 1mg per container.

As expected from a broad-spectrum product, CBD and traces of a few other cannabinoids were detected in the analysis:

  • CBDV = 0.007mg per gummy
  • CBDVa <0.0005mg
  • CBG = 0.035mg
  • CBD = 10.0201mg
  • THCV = <0.0005mg
  • CBDa = 0.0046mg
  • CBGa <0.0005mg
  • CBN <0.0005mg
  • Δ9-THC <0.0005mg
  • Δ8-THC <0.0005mg
  • THCVa <0.0005mg
  • CBC <0.0005mg
  • THCa <0.0005mg
  • CBCa <0.0005mg

Ease of UseCBD Guru Gummies

Gummy bears are by far the simplest way to take a measured amount of CBD. They’re handy to carry with you and can be discreetly popped into your mouth whenever necessary. The container that CBD Guru’s gummy bears come in is plastic, lightweight and the ideal size to fit into a pocket. It doesn’t have a child-safe cap and because gummies like these are attractive to children, I’d much prefer it if it did.

The recommended serving is 2 to 3 gummies per day and they suggest that you don’t take more than ten in 24 hours. That would be a total of 100mg, which is larger than the most recent UK guidance of 70mg per day.

CBD Guru CBD Gummies TasteCBD Guru CBD Gummies Up Close

When you put one of these gummies into your mouth, the hemp flavour is immediately noticeable. It’s slightly bitter and grassy and then as you begin to chew, it takes on a beer-like flavour. However, as the CBD coating dissolves in your mouth, a taste of fruit takes hold and they become much more enjoyable.

At first, I thought they were relatively unpleasant and wasn’t looking forward to taking them every day; however, once I realised that the hemp taste quickly subsides, I began to enjoy them. The flavour of the gummies themselves is excellent and once I was used to them, I found them much more pleasant.

It’s an odd choice to have the CBD on the outside of the gummy, but I’d rather have the hemp taste briefly at the beginning than with every chew. I also began to think that maybe by coating the gummies the hemp gets into your saliva quicker and is more likely to absorb under your tongue for fast absorption.

Potency/ Effectiveness

I chose to take one gummy, three times per day for ten days. Once in the morning, once straight after lunch and the final one just before going to bed. This gave me a total of 30mg per day, which was enough for me to notice a few beneficial effects.

As with the CBD Guru oil I tried, I found these gummies to be useful in managing pain. I found that they reduced the intensity of a few headaches I had and they also helped with muscular pain in my back. I’ve never found CBD to ease these types of symptoms before, so I was impressed. It’s worth bearing in mind that CBD affects different people in different ways so you may experience something different. The best way to find useful products is to try a few different ones and see what suits you best.

Value for Money

For £14.99 you get a container of thirty 10mg gummies which gives you a total of 300mg of CBD. That works out as about 50p per gummy and 5p per 1mg of CBD. Compared to similar products from other brands, they’re some of the cheapest we’ve found. Milligram for milligram of CBD, they’re the same price as Love Hemp Jelly Domes. But, they’re significantly less expensive than those from George Botanicals and the excellent Zen Bears.

Despite my misgivings about the hemp flavour of these gummy bears, they quickly became an enjoyable treat. At a price like this, it’s worth giving them a try. They’re not the best gummies I’ve tried, but they’re effective and have a pleasant fruit taste after the first few chews.

Would I Buy Them Again?

If you are looking for THC-free CBD gummies, I would definitely recommend CBD Guru. They appear in our best CBD gummies list as the best broad-spectrum product and are currently ranked number 3 overall.

CBD Guru 10mg CBD Gummies Review
Overall
These fruit-flavoured gummies have a lot in common with Haribo Goldbears but contain 10mg of CBD. Because they contain bovine gelatine, they’re not suitable for vegetarians or vegans. They’re coated with broad-spectrum CBD which gives them an initial bitter, beer-like taste. However, once you’ve chewed them a few times, the fruit flavour becomes more noticeable. When I took the recommended daily amount, I found them to be relatively potent. The third-party lab results verify the CBD content and that no THC was detected. These aren’t the best gummies you can get but, they’re effective and affordable.
