CannabiGold CBD Oil Review

CannabiGold CBD Oil Review

CannabiGold refers to itself as the ‘top-selling brand in the UK’. Based in Poland, they’re known for their innovation and their impressive range of high-quality golden oils. I’ve been using their 500mg CBD oil from the terpenes+ range.

The 12ml bottle is unique in that it comes with a pump instead of a dropper or a spray nozzle. It’s designed to deliver a precise measure of oil every time. On the label, it says ‘1 pump twice a day (approximately 8mg)’, which is confusing but I’ve taken it to mean that there is 4mg per pump. Consequently, you should be able to get about 125 pumps from one bottle, which if you stick to the recommended amount could last two months.

I found both the bottle and the CannabiGold website to be stylish but some of the key information isn’t presented clearly. They’ve recently stopped producing the much-loved, full-spectrum ‘intense’ range and replaced it with these terpenes+ products. Although it’s not made clear on the product page, it’s a combination of CBD isolate and terpenes in a hemp seed carrier. The closest they get to saying this is, “pure CBD and precise composition of terpenes” and on the FAQ page, “acquiring CBD from Cannabis Sativa L plants through the isolation method results in a THC-free product”.

The change from full-spectrum product to isolate is an excellent move ahead of the Food Standards Agency’s deadline of 31st March 2021. After this date, all UK CBD brands must have applied for novel food authorisation for their products. To achieve this, they must also meet UK legal standards of less than 1mg of THC per container and using CBD isolate is an effective way to ensure your product complies with that rule.

However, I’d prefer it if this was made clear on the website and packaging. Customers still have the right to make an informed choice between full-spectrum, broad-spectrum and isolate products.

Previously I’ve only ever taken oil with droppers or sprays, so I was keen to see if this atomising pump makes it any easier.

Who is CannabiGold?

CannabiGold is a brand created by Hempoland, the first private company in Poland to obtain a state license to grow hemp. They produce several oils from 250mg to 1500mg in 12mls. Additionally, they supply capsules and a small selection of balms.

They have a team of PhD scientists working to ensure that their products meet rigorous safety and quality standards. Because they grow and extract the hemp themselves, they have control over every aspect of production, which lets them make slight adjustments to improve the end products.

CannabiGold’s hemp is grown in Poland in compliance with the strict EU standards. They’ve made several useful advances in harvesting technologies and regularly test every plant during its lifecycle. Although they don’t currently have an organic certification, they believe in natural methods and don’t use artificial fertilisers.

3rd Party Lab Tests

The third-party lab results aren’t currently accessible on the CannbiGold website, but you can get them from other retailers who stock their products. At the moment there is only one available for this oil (found on for the Ageless), but that’s likely because it’s one of the first batches of the new product.

The certificates have lots of useful details including a cannabinoid profile and screening for heavy metals, PAHs and microbes. The analysis of cannabinoids verifies that it contains slightly more than 500mg of CBD and that no THC was detected. Although a tiny amount of CBDV was present, the results verify that it’s made with CBD isolate.

The results showed:

  • CBD = 4.4% (in 12ml this is equivalent to 528mg)
  • THC < 0.01% (this is equivalent to 12mg)
  • CBDa < 0.01%
  • CBDV = 0.01%
  • CBG < 0.01%
  • CBN < 0.01%
  • CBC < 0.01%

As you can see, even though no THC was detected, these results don’t guarantee that there is less than 1mg per container. This is because the lowest they detect in this sample is 12mg. However, as CannabiGold also conducts their own analysis, it’s likely that they’ve confirmed a lower THC content in-house.

Ease of Use

To start with, I found the pump quite tricky. The nozzle sticks out and points down to help you direct it under your tongue, but it took me a few times to get used to it. You need to bring the bottle very close to your chin so the nozzle can hook over your bottom teeth and point under your tongue.

Once I knew what I was doing it worked well but compared to a standard dropper I didn’t think it was that much better. The main benefit I found was that you know that each application is the same size and you don’t have to count drops. Also, you don’t need to open the bottle to use the oil, which prevents leaks. However, you still need to be careful that the little plastic cap stays on if you keep it in your pocket because if it’s not and the button gets pressed, it will leak.

CannabiGold CBD Oil Taste

This is a great-tasting oil. There’s no hint of bitterness and it tasted grassy with a touch of cucumber and mint. Although that might not sound appetising, I genuinely enjoyed it and it’s much nicer than the intensely bitter oils you can get.

Potency/ Effectiveness

I followed the usage instructions and took one measure twice a day for two weeks. I found that it helped to improve my focus and concentration during the day, but I didn’t notice any other effects. 500mg in 12mls is still a relatively low strength oil so I think, for me, a stronger one or a larger daily amount may be better.

Value for Money

For £27.99, you get 500mg of CBD in 12ml of oil that could last one and half months or even longer. This is an excellent price, it’s not one of the cheapest, but it offers quality at a price that’s even lower than basic oils like Jacob Hooy’s 5%. If you struggle to measure out oil with a dropper then is an excellent, affordable option.

Although I think this is still a great product, it’s worth bearing in mind that it doesn’t have the wide range of cannabinoids that some others do. However, I was impressed with the detailed lab reports, the fresh flavour and competitive pricing. Despite a few misgivings early on, this is a great value oil and I would happily get myself a second bottle. Although next time I’d choose one of the higher strength options.

Would I Buy Again?

Yes, I would buy this oil again. The lab results were accurate, I noticed some useful effects and it is available at such a reasonable price.

Whilst this oil was certainly good, it didn’t quite score high enough to be included in our best UK CBD oils article. As CannabiGold CBD oil only uses organic hemp, it cannot be included in our best organic CBD oil reviews.

If what you seek is a high-strength oil, this product is available in a 25% strength so is included in our list of the strongest CBD oils available in the UK.

CannabiGold Terpenes+ CBD Oil Review
Overall
This is a low strength oil with 500mg of CBD isolate in 12ml of hemp seed oil along with a blend of terpenes. The pump atomiser isn’t revolutionary, but it works well and ensures that you get a precisely measured amount every time. The third-party lab results are detailed and verify the amount of CBD. The stand out feature for me is the light grassy flavour with no bitter aftertaste.
